The district attorney, as the public prosecutor of both criminal and civil cases, ensures that justice is done and that the rights of all are safeguarded. The district attorney works with every component of the criminal justice system and the entire community to protect the innocent, to convict and appropriately punish the guilty, and to protect the rights of victims and witnesses. DA’s are also responsible for arguing during a bail hearing. Often times the DA will attempt to raise a persons bail bond amount if they feel the person is a flight risk. The DA also will assist the judge in determining the bail amount for any given charges. The district attorney uses family support actions to ensure that both parents share the obligation to support their children.

Once you have posted bail and are out of jail you will be required to go to all of your court appearance dates. Visit the Riverside County Court Web Site for more extensive information regarding your case. When your case is over you will need to provide your bail bond company proof of exoneration. You can obtain this from the court on the day of your sentencing. When you have this in hand you should call your bail bondsman and let them know everything is over with. If you deposited any sort of collateral with the bail bonds company you can show your proof that the case is over with and get your collateral back.
